Approximately 10-15% of couples experience problems with fertility, and in more than 50% of cases the infertility problem is down to the male. A thorough study can diagnose the causes that affects the fertility in the male and can detect diseases such as testicular cancer, genetic disorders or a deficit in the production of testosterone, which is essential for many functions. Approximately 3-5% of men, who have undergone a vasectomy, opt to have a vasectomy reversal (vasovasostomy) for various reasons including, change of partner, death of children, desire for more children with the same partner etc... Sexual problems in men are mainly erectile dysfunction (impotence) and premature ejaculation, which are often associated with major health problems such diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and depression. Therefore accurate diagnosis of the sexual dysfunction is needed in order to identify its cause/s and recommend appropriate treatment.
There are various methods used for the treatment of sexual dysfunction in men. Oral drugs, psychotherapy, penile injections of vasodilated drugs, vacuum devices and penile prosthesis usually solve the problem in most cases.
