The ProcreaTec clinic

Infertility clinic in Madrid, Spain

ProcreaTec is run by professionals with over 20 years of experience in Assisted Reproduction. The clinic was started by experienced professionals from other clinics in Madrid. They are a group specialized in fertility and genetics who offer a variety of treatments from the most basic to the most sophisticated reproductive medicine techniques.

The staff at the clinic take into consideration the opinion and necessities of each of their patients. They understand that fertility is not only a medical problem but each patient needs individual attention in order to build trust and understanding with the team treating them.

The team is made up of doctors specialised in assisted reproduction, biologists with many years of experience in embryology, a urologist who has great interest in male fertility problems, a nutritionist ready to help patients optimise their fertility through weight loss and nutrition, a psychologist with experience in helping patients with fertility problems and a team of nurses interested in the well-being of all patients.

ProcreaTec has a native English-speaking doctor who will oversee your treatment and communicate directly with you and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have before, during and after the treatment.

When should I research fertility clinics?

There are many factors that lead to infertility, but age is essential. If there is no known underlying disease, gynecologists recommend that patients be studied after a year of unprotected sex if the woman is under 35.

If the woman is over 35, 6 months of unprotected sex without pregnancy is the recommended moment to begin evaluation. If the woman is 40 or older, the assessment should be initiated after 3 months.

Generally speaking, this is how things are done but sometimes specialized attention is needed earlier. For example when a woman has a previous history of pelvic infection, a hereditary disease, 2 miscarriages or in the case of men, undescended testicles or a hereditary disease, a specialist may be consulted when the couple decides to have children.

The ProcreaTec clinic

Evaluation of infertility

The first step that needs to be taken when up against a fertility problem is a correct diagnosis. In many cases there is more than one factor impeding conception, so it is essential to perform a correct and complete evaluation.

The medical team will review the patient’s history and necessary testing will be prescribed to achieve an accurate diagnosis. If a male factor is diagnosed, consultation with our urologist may be recommended.

Most people that come to us have already spent some time trying to achieve pregnancy and are anxious to begin treatment. Their goal is to start as soon as a complete diagnosis has been reached, which is usually after one menstrual cycle.

Treatments offered

Egg donation

There are two ways of co-ordinating your egg donation cycle. If your own consultant in your country is happy to support you through the process and prescribe the medication, then all preparation can be done there and you attend the clinic here for a one visit of 7 to 9 days at the point of donor egg collection and your embryo transfer.

Otherwise we would advise you to have an initial consultation with us where we can update any investigations needed, prescribe medication needed and discuss your treatment plan in detail. We would ask you to freeze a sperm sample at this appointment. You would then only need to attend the clinic in time for embryo transfer, so a visit of around 5 days.

We aim to ensure that we provide a donor that matches your physical and blood group profile. The average number of eggs received is 6 to 8 and our success rate is over 55%.
