The Spanish fertility centre, Instituto Bernabeu, directs and impels the Chair of Reproductive Medicine at the University Miguel Hernández (UMH) and the Chair of Biotechnology at the University of Alicante.

Embryo adoption. During the embryo donation procedure, patients can decide to “adopt” the embryos of other couples who have been through IVF treatment. Homologous Intrauterine Insemination (IUI-H) is a procedure widely used for treating several reproductive disorders. It must not be confused with In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), since the insemination intends that fertilisation is obtained in a natural way within the fallopian tubes, where it is usually produced. Intrauterine insemination of donor. This procedure is similar to the above mentioned one, but with the difference that it uses the sperm of an anonymous donor. This sperm is previously stored and prepared in Instituto Bernabeu's sperm bank according to the guidelines of Assisted Reproduction Law. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Microinjection (ICSI). Thanks to this technique, 95% of men who have serious fertility problems will be able to have their own child. Seminal Storage.This consists of freezing the sperm in liquid nitrogen, where it is stored at -196º, maintaining its fertility capacity over a period of many years. Click here to read more about seminal storage.
