Infertility and IVF treatment

Infertility treatments can be of varying complexity, depending on their origin. The following assisted reproduction services are available:

• Complete study of the couple Centres are equipped with the techology required ; endoscopies, ultrasounds, hormone analysis, x-rays or histological examinations, permitting , in every single case, recommendations for the most  suitable technique.

• Ovulation induction Helps to achieve ovulation in women with ovulation dysfunction.

• Vasovasostomies. Reanastomosis of vasectomies.

• Varicocele surgery Helps to decrease excessive temperature in the scrotum causing a decrease in the motility of sperm.

• Articial insemination with husband's sperm (AIH). A procedure in which mobile sperm, previously selected from the partner's semen, are deposited into the female genital canal.

• Articial insemination by donor (AID). This procedure is similar to AIH except that the sperm donor is anonymous.

• In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). Fertilisation that will result in embryos is done in the laboratory. For this fertilisation, a female oocyte is obtained by ultrasound-guided ovarian puncture. Sperm is selected  from  the male's semen.

• Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm injection (ICSI). This is a technique complementary to IVF, where a single sperm is microinjected in every single oocyte. In some cases, the microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) and/or the Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE) are required.

• Egg donation. This technique uses donated oocytes that  are fertilised with sperm from the male partner in order to obtain embryos which could not be otherwise achieved. Oocyte donation entails a strict selection process of women who may be suitable for anonymous donation.

• Embryo donation

• Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis prevents the implantation of those embryos, obtained by IVF,  which have certain chromosomal abnormalities in cases where there is a risk of transmission from the parents. It  ensures that the child is born healthy.

• Ultrasound monitoring of hormone treatments is used as well as echo-guided monitoring of both transcervical or transmyometrial embryo transfers.
• Egg donation refunding guarantees that you will be reimbursed 70% of your fees if they cannot achieve an ongoing pregnancy. If they succeed in the first attempt you will pay more than the fixed cost of one cycle (that’s your risk). But if after 3 egg donation cycles and they have not succeeded, they will reimburse you 70% of the total cost of the treatment (that’s their risk). In the refunding program you pay a fixed fee that covers up to 3 fresh egg-donation cycles, including all the cryopreservation cycles that may be performed in between.
