What is implantology?

Implantology started its development in Sweden in the 60s and 70s when it was discovered that the metal titanium, if placed in contact with bone as an implant, could stimulate the bone to bond with the implant. From this discovery grew the idea that missing or damaged teeth could be replaced by a structure consisting of an implant (a sort of metal screw made from pure titanium with a special coating) a connector and a crown (made to the same shape and size of the lost tooth). When properly made and fitted, implants offer a strong and long-lasting solution to the problem of missing teeth and so enhance the patient's quality of life significantly.

Today there are many different types of implants on the market. They are not all suitable for all patients and it is important that implant treatment is carried out by highly qualified specialists in the field. The Aesthetic Implantology Clinic has prepared a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions on the topic of dental implants.

Cerec system - Aesthetic Implantology Clinic

The Cerec system - computer precision and metal- free ceramic technology

Cerec® is a system that uses CAD/CAM technology (computer assisted design and manufacture) for the production of dental prosthetic pieces with maximum quality, aesthetics and biocompatibility.

Not only does the Cerec® system mean high quality - it can also save time as the crowns can be manufactured and placed on the same day and so eliminate in many cases the need to have a temporary crown. The Aesthetic Implantology Clinic is pleased to use this high technology solution for the convenience and care of its patients.

Barcelona

Barcelona makes an excellent centre to receive treatment. It has excellent connections with most other European cities, has a reliably warm climate and is a city with a rich cultural heritage and plenty to see and do. After your treatment it makes a fine place to spend a few days rest and recuperation.
